Our name pays homage to the iconic Parisian department store Tati , which opened in 1948 in the Barbès neighborhood of Paris's 18th arrondissement, an area affectionately known as "Little Africa." Founded by Jules Ouaki, it pioneered the concept of discount, self-service shopping in Paris, making fashion accessible to everyone. Decades later, legendary designer Azzedine Alaïa shattered the fashion boundaries of his era by collaborating with Tati for his iconic Spring/Summer 1991 collection . This bold move transformed Tati's bargain gingham print into an enduring symbol of high fashion!
